Week 5, Term 1, 2021

Monday was our school Swimming Sports. On the day I was really nervous but after my 1 length freestyle, I felt a bit more confident. Since it was my first swimming sport I was hoping that my mum and dad would come, but I was ok because I had Teana to help me.    


We had two art sessions this week and it is a bit hard but fun at the same time. For my collage, I am up to cutting out the triangles. 


For reading this week the group that I am in has been reading Boy vs Beast fire beast. I have read it in Whenua but it is fun to reread it.


Part of our maths program is NumBots and I think I am pretty good at it. I am on chrome. At the start it is easy but it gets harder and harder.

 Tower challenge. In today's Whetu challenge I worked with Danny and Christopher and we built a tower out of newspaper.  our tower fell two times so we only got to make the base. The hardest part was making the tower stay on the base. Something that we could have done better was make our roles tighter. Christopher was in charge of the tape, Danny was in charge of holding the newspaper rolls, and I was in charge Of tapping the newspaper.

Play, Make, Create.

Be You. For this Play, Make, Create we did build. I worked with Sol, Liam, and James. We made a boat out of wood. We also made a fishing rod out of a skipping rope and a cricket wicket. We put a motor so the boat could move. What went well was it didn't collapse. What we could have changed was the anchor because it was only made of a hurdle. We worked good together to get the job done.
