This week we did our Activity on the book Giraffes can't dance. I worked with Cody and Miller. We made porotiti. It is a Maori instrument. We used it to make music for the Graffe. How We Made It: we cut out a circle then put two holes in the middle then we put the string through the holes.

Play, Make, Create

For this Play, Make, Create I worked with Danny. We had to do something to do with the book, we are going on a bear hunt. We did another way for them to cross the river. Our way was to build a raft and then tie the rope to the raft. Then we made a tree and put the other end of the rope around the branch. The person on the other side of the river will pull the rope and the raft will go across the river. Then the people on the raft will push the raft to the other person with the rope. The raft has an engine so the other person can drive is across the river.

Week 5, Term 1, 2021

Monday was our school Swimming Sports. On the day I was really nervous but after my 1 length freestyle, I felt a bit more confident. Since it was my first swimming sport I was hoping that my mum and dad would come, but I was ok because I had Teana to help me.     We had two art sessions this week and it is a bit hard but fun at the same time. For my collage, I am up to cutting out the triangles.  For reading this week the group that I am in has been reading Boy vs Beast fire beast. I have read it in Whenua but it is fun to reread it. Part of our maths program is NumBots and I think I am pretty good at it. I am on chrome. At the start it is easy but it gets harder and harder.

For this Whetu Challenge, we did the very hungry caterpillar. I worked with Noah and Dylan. Our task was to design a home for the caterpillar that is better than its cacoon. we used Sticks, blocks, leaves, flax, grass, and bark. I thought that this task was FUN!
